Send us a real number.

This site gets better when somebody who just paid for a building tells us what it cost. That's the email we want most.

What's worth sending

  • 01

    A current quote

The single most valuable thing we receive. Building type, size, your state, the date, and whether it's a shell or turnkey. Redact whatever you like, the number and the scope are what matter.

  • 02

    A number that's wrong

If a range on this site doesn't match what you were actually charged, tell us. We'd rather correct a table than defend it.

  • 03

    A price change we missed

Manufacturers move pricing quietly and rarely announce it. If a source page changed, a link to it is enough.

  • 04

    Press and permissions

Citing a figure, or asking about republishing. Attribution and a link are usually all we want back.

What happens next

A person reads it. If you send a quote that changes a range, we update the table, move the modified date on the guide, and credit the source unless you ask us not to. If you send a correction we can verify, it gets fixed rather than argued with.

What we can't do is quote your building, recommend a specific builder in your county, or tell you whether a bid you received is fair for your site. We publish ranges; we've never seen your ground. For that you want a licensed builder and a written bid.
